Steven Gamell, 10, holds his little brother, Austin, 1, at their Hosororo, Guyana home on Thursday, March 5, 2009. Hosororo is located in the Guyanese jungle and travel from the capital Georgetown to the country's interior can take up to 24 hours by boat or an hour airplane ride. Hosororo schools do not offer computer literacy classes and the internet has yet to reach their community, electricity is only available from 6-11 p.m. each evening. CRS has provided computers and Microsoft programs to help the people in the community improve their computer literacy skills. It is the only computer lab in Hosororo. Although, Gamell has never seen or used the internet, she thinks it will be a useful tool for her future studies.
